Jaipur. World Heritage Jaipur city is celebrating its 293rd Foundation Day today. Zapper … was the first name here, which later changed to Jaipur according to English minings.

Jaipur was founded on 1727.

Sawai Ramsingh made the city pink in 1875. The city before it was painted white. Actually in the year 1876 Prince of Wales (Edvd VII) came to Jaipur, so it was painted pink.

Jaipur was modernized in 1942 by Maharaja Sawai Mansingh II and the then Prime Minister Sir Mirza Ismail. After independence, the verandahs were closed due to encroachment.

In 2000, during the operation Pink the city verandas were evacuated.

On 5 February 2020, Jaipur became a World Heritage City. UNESCO Director General Audrey Azole gave the World Heritage City certificate.

– From September 23, 2020, underground metro is now running from Chandpol to Badi Chaupar.
